President/Owner John Arie Sr has been involved in the action park industry since 1968 through operation, development, and ownership of Lil’500, Little Wheels, Fun’N Wheels, Fun Spot of Myrtle Beach, Fun Spot of Virgina Beach, Fun Spot Action Park and Fun Spot USA. John is married to Lois (hence his nickname “Superman”) and has four wonderful children and thirteen beautiful grandchildren.
John attended Oviedo High School and the University of Central Florida. During John’s spare time he enjoys spending time with his family and staying involved with his church. John’s hobbies and interests are flying, fishing, and boating. John & Lois love to travel, including a trip to Central America, plus fishing trips in Canada, a visit to Italy, Alaska, Hawaii and Norway! John Sr is focusing his efforts on the expansion of the Orlando Park into Fun Spot America.
Outside of his desire and love for his family and church John’s true love and passion are people! John believes in prompting the development, positive motivation, training and growth for the greatest team at Fun Spot Attractions. John is a visionary and Fun Spot is a great example of the true vision John has for the Central Florida area. John’s motto is “Life is GREAT!”
John Arie Jr, started working his father's business as a teen. He has worked many positions from Track attendant to a Lead to a Manager-on-Duty, to the General Manager of the Kissimmee Park when it first opened. Today he is COO over both parks. But most people know him as the TV Spokesman for Fun Spot. Starting in 2001 John Jr started in his first commercial and a natural talent was seen and developed. He now does all the TV Spots and is known as the "It's HUGE! Guy". Married to his High School sweetheart, Tracy, together they are raising their two children, John III (TJ) and Alexis. John has also co-hosted CW18's Saturday night movie, WKMG's Retro TV night, an Orange County Safety PSA, and will be co-hosting segments on the Tourist Channel.
Many other members of the family work for Fun Spot Attractions making our parks true Family parks. As attractions go in Central Florida, Fun Spot Attractions are some of the few that are locally owned and operated and privately held by one family. The Arie Family likes creating a positive work environment and Safe - Clean - Fun - for their guests, their employees and their family; their Fun Spot Family.
